For anyone in Gnosall struggling with high energy bills, a cold home or damp and mould, free support is available through a partnership between Stafford Borough Council and Staffordshire-based charity Beat the Cold.
What support is on offer?
- Advice on energy tariffs and switching suppliers
- Help accessing insulation and low-carbon technology grants
- Guidance on water bills
- Damp and mould referrals
- Sign-up support for the National Grid Priority Services Register, which offers urgent help during power cuts for vulnerable residents or those dependent on medical equipment
What difference has it made?
Beat the Cold advisers have been supporting residents through phone calls, home visits and community events. The partnership has so far created a potential overall benefit of £275,465 through savings, grants and social value for local households.
Beat the Cold are a Staffordshire based charity, whose aim is to reduce fuel poverty, and cold related ill health. Beat the Cold is committed to helping those who live in, or are at risk of fuel poverty, or whose health could be detrimentally affected by a cold home.
