Jia Jin, which has been serving the village from its High Street premises for nearly two decades, announced the temporary closure on Facebook, with a member of staff sharing the news on behalf of owners Sean and Josephine.
The post read: "Due to health issues Sean and Josephine have come to the difficult decision to close Jia Jin for a couple of months. They look forward to reopening for you at some point in November when they're able. Trust me, I understand people will be disappointed, but I know everyone will welcome them back with open arms when they're ready to reopen."
The takeaway, which holds a five-star food hygiene rating, is well known for its quality food, particularly its pancake spring rolls and chow mein. Its reputation for good quality food draws customers not just from Gnosall, but from well beyond the village itself.
Residents have flooded the Facebook comments with messages of support and well wishes for the owners during this difficult time.
We at LoveGnosall send our warmest wishes to Sean, Josephine, and the team, and look forward to welcoming them back in November.
