The club has been carrying out significant work to clear the brook that runs through its grounds, as part of efforts to tackle the flooding that has long affected the site. The project has involved considerable time and expense from a number of people.
However, the club says children and teenagers are continuing to visit the area despite previous warnings. In one case, cleared material from a neighbouring farmer's land has been dumped back into the brook by children, undoing work that had already been completed.
The club is urging parents to take note for two key reasons:
- Safety - the brook reaches depths of up to 5 feet in places, making it genuinely dangerous
- Damage - the interference is setting back improvement works that the wider community stands to benefit from
The club acknowledges that children naturally want to explore, but says clear boundaries are necessary for everyone's safety. Parents are asked to speak to their children and remind them to stay away from the brook and the surrounding area.

As we approach our new driveway date we've been in the process of making massive improvements to clear the brook in which helps tremendously with the flooding which we get down the club this is a massive project and alot of moneys and time has gone into this by all to try and make the club facilities better!
Unfortunately after warnings and previous posts we're still witnessing young children/teenagers coming down to the club grounds and surrounding area approaching the brook and Unfortunately we've just had confirmation that one of the connecting Farmers land and surrounding brook which they have cleared is having it filled back in by children.
We can't stress enough that not only is this very dangerous as in some places its 5ft deep its very upsetting and frustrating too as there's lots of people involved trying to better the area and its being ruined.
Please if you have children that are out and about please inform them of the dangers and please do not enter these areas.
Like we've said before we understand children are children and like to explore but there has to be rules for safety reasons.
