Sam Myatt was just 20 years old when he tragically lost his life in a road traffic collision in January 2019. Now, his memory is to be permanently honoured at Gnosall Sports and Social Club, with the official naming of the club's new driveway as Sam Myatt Way.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place at 12:00pm on Saturday 26th September at Gnosall Sports and Social Club, home of AFC Gnosall. Everyone is welcome to attend, and visitors are encouraged to wear royal blue and white - the colours of AFC Gnosall - in Sam's memory.
The new driveway has been made possible through the fundraising efforts and generosity of members of AFC Gnosall, Gnosall Sports and Social Club, and supporter John Forrester. The project has transformed access to the site, creating a safer and more welcoming environment for everyone who visits.
A community celebration
After the ceremony, the club is throwing a full afternoon of family-friendly fun to celebrate Sam's legacy. There will be plenty to enjoy for all ages, including:
- Bouncy castles
- Fun games for kids and adults
- Face gems and glitter
- BBQ food
- Stalls, cakes and crafts
This is a warm and fitting tribute to a young man who meant a great deal to our community. Come along, join in, and help make it a day to remember.
