Leigh Ingham, MP for Stafford, Eccleshall, and the villages, has confirmed that Stafford will be part of the government's second wave of Youth Hubs — a national scheme backed by a £2.5 billion investment to support 16 to 24-year-olds.
What is a Youth Hub?
Youth Hubs bring together services under one roof, giving young people direct access to employment support, skills training, and wider help as they move into adulthood and the workforce. The idea is simple: everything in one place, making it easier for young people to get the support they need.
How it came about
Leigh Ingham has been pushing for this for some time, raising the issue in Parliament and lobbying Ministers to ensure Stafford was chosen. The next step will involve central government, the local council, and community partners working together to decide on the best location and services for the area.
Leigh Ingham said: "I'm a firm believer that young people can achieve brilliant things if the right opportunities are available. Securing this Youth Hub is a really important part of my mission to expand opportunities for young people, but it's just one piece of the puzzle, and I'll continue to campaign for young people until we have better youth services and educational opportunities too."
