Gnosall 10k gives back to the community with a bumper year of donations

Every year, the popular village event raises thousands of pounds for good causes, and this year has been another fantastic success, with even more local organisations benefiting from the generosity of runners, sponsors and volunteers.

The Gnosall 10k team recently held its annual donations evening, bringing together representatives from local charities, community groups and voluntary organisations to celebrate the difference the event continues to make across the parish and beyond.

Hosted by Gnosall Globetrotters, the village's friendly running club, the evening saw donations presented by club leader and Gnosall Parish Councillor Bob Middleton.

And with the Gnosall 10k continuing to grow in popularity, there was particularly good news this year: more money was available to support more organisations than ever before.

A little help goes a long way

From supporting young people and families to looking after our village, helping those in need and improving local facilities, the donations will make a real difference to organisations that do so much for our community.

This year's beneficiaries were:

  • GG's Youth Club
  • Gnosall Best Kept Village
  • Marie Curie UK
  • Gnosall St Lawrence PSFA
  • Gnosall Community Library
  • Gnosall First Responders
  • Gnosall Towpath Restoration
  • Gary Fear's Ukraine Fund
  • Gnosall Scouts and Guides
  • Gnosall Baby and Toddler Group
  • Gnosall Patient Partnership Group
  • Gnosall Men's Shed
  • Gnosall Christmas Meals Fund
  • Gnosall Family Sports and Social Club

It's a wonderfully varied list, reflecting just how many people and organisations quietly contribute to making Gnosall such a special place to live.

Some provide opportunities for children and young people, others offer friendship, practical support or a helping hand during difficult times. All play their part in strengthening the community.

More than just a running event

The Gnosall 10k has become a much-loved fixture in the village calendar, bringing together runners, supporters and volunteers for an event that combines fitness, friendship and community spirit.

Behind the scenes, the event is organised by a dedicated team closely associated with Gnosall Globetrotters, the local running club that grew out of Gnosall Ladies' Running Club.

The club and the Gnosall 10k share a common enthusiasm for bringing people together, whether that's through running or raising money for worthwhile causes.

And while crossing the finish line is a personal achievement for every participant, the benefits of the event extend far beyond the race itself.

A big thank you from Gnosall

The Gnosall 10k team were keen to recognise the people who make these donations possible, particularly the runners who take part each year and the businesses and sponsors who generously support the event.

Their collective efforts mean that money raised through a single day of running can go on to make a lasting difference throughout the year.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the Gnosall 10k and Gnosall Globetrotters, and a huge thank you for continuing to give so much back to our community.
